How Do I Prepare My Home for Carpet Cleaning?

Besides having small furniture and items off the carpet and out of the way, there’s isn’t too much to prepare for. Our vans come equipped with water so we typically do not need to use your water. In many cases, we don’t require electricity unless the carpet needs a thorough vacuuming. Vacuuming your carpet is also good idea.

While we vacuum your carpet prior to our service, you cannot vacuum carpet enough. We recommend you vacuum before we arrive to remove as much dry particulates from your carpet. We also do Not recommend you spot treat stains before we arrive. This is because most store bought stain removers contain too much soap and most homeowners apply too much of that product. This results in rapid re-soiling as we cannot remove all the soap you may have sprayed on the stains.

Do You Move Furniture?

We offer furniture moving as an additional service; however, we do not move electronics, king size beds or abnormally large furniture. Because carpet soils are typically from foot traffic, airborne cooking oils and pets, carpet below furniture is usually clean save for vacuuming. Because of this we recommend leaving stationary furniture in place. This also avoids rust and varnish stains from furniture legs. When we move furniture, we sell you quality carpet coasters to ensure rust or varnish doesn’t stain your carpet. The coasters are yours to keep after the service.

If you would like to move your furniture, please keep in mind that furniture needs to be moved up to six times during the cleaning: Twice to vacuum, twice to pre-spray, twice to clean beneath. If you would like to move your furniture, please do so before we arrive while making sure its stationary on a hard surface.
